NDIS and You

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new way of providing support for people under the age of 65 living with a disability to receive the specialised care and support for their health and well being. The NDIS focuses on the person with a disability and provides them with the choice to decide where and how to use their funding.  The  NDIS is designed to provide you with funding for necessary supports and services to improve your everyday life.

Through the NDIS, funding goes directly to the individual to allocate spending on the services they need from the provider of their choice. A plan is created for each eligible NDIS participant based on specific individual needs and progress goals.

The amount of funding you receive is based on your individual plan and needs to last for the entire duration, typically 12 months after your plan started. It does not roll over into your next plan so any funding that is not used will be lost.

To become an NDIS participant you will need to meet the age, residency and disability or early intervention access requirements. At Devotion Care we can help you to support your plan and achieve your NDIS goals. Support can range from providing staff within many approved service categories. Your NDIS Plan is very specific in that you will have listed on your plan a number of categories that outline the range of supports you require.

We will work with you to identify the supports you need to live your life. Supports may help you achieve goals in many aspects of your life, including independence, involvement in your community, education, employment and health and well-being.
